UPDATE 17-7 – cost reduction and buffet cancelled

At the moment, we only have 4 boats entered, and we are wondering whether it’s the cost that’s putting you off.

We have cancelled plans for the buffet / catering and have reduced the price to £30 per boat.

Hopefully that might get a few more of you interested … we’ve still got the band playing.

We would like to welcome the Merlin Rocket and Fireball classes to Mumbles Yacht Club.

Hopefully you’re looking forwards to coming – times are strange, but we’re doing a lot to make it a fun and safe event.

The line up currently looks like this, but is subject to change:

What does it cost, and what do I get?

The cost of the event is £45.

There’s live music on Saturday night.

There is a buffet included in the price on Saturday night, we have to buy it in as out galley is currently closed. It makes up 1/3 of the entry fee, but it’s scrummy. It’s something like this:

  1. Queen Green Olive & sun-blushed tomato, Tortilla segments
  2. Treacle & Guinness soda bread topped with smoked salmon & garlic aioli
  3. Pork scotch egg segments flavours include Black pudding, white pudding & chorizo
  4. Toasted sourdough thins topped with Black Olive tapenade or Basil Pesto &
    Char grilled peppers
  5. Tortilla Wraps filled with Med Veg & Avocado/ Moroccan hummus & peppers/ Smoked Salmon & dill cream cheese.

If you’ve not visited before, there’s some information about Mumbles and where you can go here.

If you’ve got a camper van, as long as it fits in the car parking bays you can use it there (with appropriate pay and display), but for more space there’s a car park a short walk away called Bracelet Bay car park, which the Council prefer you to use.

There are a number of great guest houses in Mumbles, along with plenty of camp sites on and around the Gower peninsula.

Looking forwards to seeing you all again!
