Training 2018 information and how to apply

Youth Evening Training starts this year (the first week of the summer term as usual) the week commencing the 16 April, and Adult Evening Training on Tuesday the 1 May, with a further six week course starting in June / July.

The full set of planned dates, together with more details about the course content, prices, and other useful information will be available on the training pages of the website at from 11 February 2018. The overview document will probably answer most questions that you might have.

For all courses please use the online ‘Book Training Courses’ form, which is in the same place on the website. The booking form has been updated so you can apply straight away.

The closing date for the Youth Evening Training is Sunday the 4 March. For adult training we will accept applications up to two weeks before the course start dates.

Adult Evening courses

Will run on a Tuesday evening again from 5.30 / 6.00pm. The first course starts on the 1 May, with a second course starting in June / July.

Please apply early if you are interested as this will help us to plan better.

Youth Evening courses

We plan to run beginner and intermediate youth courses on both a Monday and Wednesday evening. However places cannot be guaranteed and your are recommended to apply early. When you apply you will have the option to select either a Monday or a Wednesday, however when we review the applications we will assess the ability of applicants to try and fit them into the correct group with matched abilities. So please be as flexible as possible with the two days as it may be that we offer you a different day to that which you have applied for. It is very difficult to ensure the quality of training if we have mixed ability groups.

Youth Advanced training

For those that trained with Paul Wakelin last year, Paul has agreed to fit in another two sessions on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 February 10am-2pm to make up for sessions lost due to weather.
If you can make these dates please apply on line and drop me an email asap so that we can confirm with Paul asap

We hope then to plan further Thursday evening advanced training following a similar format to last year for those of you that took part last year and those sailors that are ready to move on from intermediate training. As soon as I have details I will let you know, but please apply now if you are interested so we can gauge interest.
